about

Musical Style: Afrobeat, Anagobeat

Musical Influences: Fela Kuti, Olalekan Babalola, Orlando Julius

Musical Inspiration: The division that land borders, landmarks, sea borders ,various nationalities, skin colours put on a people that are of one origin was what inspired "We are Anagos . It's a call out song to all sons and daughters of Oduduwa(The Father of the Yorubas) to embrace unity regardless of where we find ourselves, those that transatlantic slave trade made Americans, Europeans, those that borderlines made other nationalities, those who migrated on their own. We all belong to ife .

Artist Quote: "We Anago Anagos" was written during the time of our travels to some western African countries. Meeting with the Yoruba speaking people in these countries was fun because of the slight difference of dialect(Yoruba).. More to say, the Yoruba language was corrupted and this was were the name "Anago" comes in. Anago language is corrupted Yoruba language.(Yoruba/Anago) The track is wake up call to all Yoruba and Anagos all of the world. We are Yorubas, We are Anagos. We are one.

Track Description: “We are Anagos” by The Voice of Lajorun sings to the notion that we all belong to life. The song calls out to the sons and daughters of Oduduwa (The Father of the Yorubas) to embrace unity regardless of where you find yourself in origin, nationality, skin color, native land, and beyond. “We are Anagos” was written during the group’s travels to western African countries and connecting with Yoruba-speaking people in the countries embracing the slightly different nuances in dialect and that’s where the name “Anago” comes in (the word for corrupted Yoruba language). This track is a wake-up call to all Yoruba and Anagos of the world—We are Yorubas. We are Anagos. We are One.
